Essex Rescue is always looking for ways to improve our community's education for all ages. Essex Rescue teamed up with the Vermont Stars girls hockey program for CPR / First Aid Training.
On Saturday October 3rd, 25 players from the U-12 and U-14 Vermont Stars spent the afternoon with Essex Rescue learning CPR life saving skills. The girls showed their enthusiasm by sharing stories, asking questions, and practiced their hands on CPR techniques.
The day began after the teams arrived and they shared pizza and beverages provided by Vermont Stars at Essex Rescue's Headquarters. The day then moved into the classroom where the girls learned what to do in an emergency, who to call, and proper life saving CPR techniques while keeping themselves and others safe. After the classroom portion and a quick break, the girls split up into small groups and practiced their new hands on CPR skills. All 25 girls became certified in Adult, Child and Infant CPR!
The First Aid portion of the training is scheduled for October 31st, 2009 in Waterbury
